To help us meet the increasing demand for sustainable design, LEDA are seeking a Passive House Consultant or Designer to join our team. We are a multi-disciplinary workers’ co-operative of Building Services Engineers and Architects, delivering integrated design solutions in tandem with specialist advice, feasibility strategies and low carbon consultancy.

Skills and Experience
• Certified Passivhaus Designer / Consultant (CEPHD/CEPHC) or willingness to train within the first year
• Good understanding of building services and renewable technologies
• Knowledge of retrofit and/or new build with sustainable design focus
• Professional qualification related to the built environment
• Self-motivation and developing existing skills are a must. You will need a keen interest in energy, buildings, and creating the right working and living environments for people, as well as an interest in the nuts and bolts of how this is achieved from concept to completion.
• Capable of using an architectural software program such as CAD, REVIT, SketchUp, etc
• You will need to be resourceful, conscientious, innovative, and able to work independently.
• Confident communication with all levels of professionals and trades people is important, so good interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
• You will also be keen to contribute to LEDA’s people-centred work environment and collaborative approach to providing the best for our clients
Desirable
• Experience of PHPP modelling
• Experience with dynamic simulation modelling such as Design Builder or IES
• MVHR design / CAD and Sketchup / THERM / WUFI
Salary
£27,000 - £30,000 depending on experience. Plus 6% Employer Pension Contribution, plus 30 days’ holiday. Part time is an option. CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER at BC Passive House

Reporting to the BC Passive House (the “Company”) Board of Directors, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in leveraging the Company’s history and success to help them achieve future growth objectives and sustained profitability. The COO will act as a business leader and will be heavily relied upon to achieve the long-term business and financial objectives of the Company.
The COO will oversee daily operations, focusing on the development and implementation of new systems, business tools and processes to support the continued and long-term growth of the organization. Additionally, they will provide leadership and business strategy to support operational, business development and customer service excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide full-time management and leadership to a construction manufacturing company
- Leverage personal experience in construction and that gained through working with BCPH to improve company process flow and efficiency
- Recruit additional skilled labour to maximize use of existing company capital; In longer term assist with adding and further developing company capital with the goal of maximizing production capacity
- Formulate a viable operating business plan with detailed annual financial forecasts, sales, marketing, and financing plans, and HR resource expansion projections to achieve the Company’s long-term objectives.
- With a focus on continuously improving operational efficiency, implement management frameworks including a KPI structure and an activity-based financial control and a management information system (MIS), an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, with the goal of linking company activities and operations to measurable, financial metrics with a focus on driving ROE (Return on Equity).
- Devise and execute an IP strategy, including trademarks, branding and productization of certain technologies, to build up the Company’s franchise value over time.
- Explore alternative financing strategies to lower the Company’s overall cost of capital and ensure continual funding for business growth.
- Seek and formulate strategic alliances with other industry stakeholders and key target developers to enlarge the Company’s business capability and market coverage, including potential expansion outside of BC and Canada.
Education Required
- A combined engineering degree and bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, or related discipline is preferred.
- Certifications, advanced knowledge, or hands-on work experience related to Building Sciences, Master Carpentry, and timber engineering are required.

LEDA is looking for a talented and motivated Architect, in a full or part-time position, with a mix of studio and home-based work. We are a multi-disciplinary workers’ co-operative of Building Services Engineers and Architects, delivering integrated building design solutions in tandem with specialist advice, feasibility strategies and low carbon consultancy.
You will be working with a small, close-knit team to take on the current workload, develop future architectural work and have an active role in helping to shape the co-operative as it develops further.

Skills and Experience
- An Architect with 2-5 years experience post ARB registration who can run projects from start to finish and contribute actively to the development of the co-operative.
- Desire to develop the architectural offering at LEDA and shape future direction.
- A keen interest in sustainable design, particularly passive house, retrofit and design for net zero.
- Experience in residential, social housing, community and arts buildings preferred.
- Knowledge of PHPP and/or the Passive House designer qualification is desirable, or a willingness to train to achieve this.
- Experience in Archicad (preferred) or Revit CAD systems.
- Preferred experience in Retrofit design and knowledge of PAS2035.
- Interest in developing further knowledge of the above, within the context of an open co-operative work environment where both teamwork and self-initiative are encouraged
- Keen to develop new expertise in sustainable building design, working alongside building services engineers and PHPP consultants.
- An interest in learning new software and developing existing skills is a must. You will need a keen interest in energy, buildings, and creating the right working and living environments for people, as well as an interest in the nuts and bolts of how this is achieved from concept to completion.
- You will need to be resourceful, conscientious, innovative, and able to work independently. Confident communication with all levels of professionals and tradespeople is important, so good interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.

Salary

Alan Vega Pasos, MSc, PhD, Mexican, based in Southeast Mexico is looking for a position in the energy efficiency sector in Mexico, especially in the field of airtightness testing. In 2020 he completed his PhD in Building Technology at the University of Nottingham in the UK. The topic of his thesis was "Air infiltration modelling based on low-pressure airtightness measurements". He offers experience in airtightness testing with the blower door and also with the Pulse method (low-pressure). He has also used tracer gas methods to perform air infiltration tests.
